Ripon Rowel PlayersLinda joined in 1993 - largely because her step-daughter Vicky Blades had joined. She originally only intended to work backstage, being interested in wardrobe and make-up. In 1994 she began to help with Juniors and prompted them A Midsummer's Night Dream.
She was talked into going on stage and was involved in both the one act plays and a sketch in "An Evening of Laughter." Since then she has taken roles in An Inspector Calls, Shadows, Martha Pentridge in Bonaventure, Muriel Wickstead in Habeas Corpus, Mrs Meadowsweet, Jane Stocks (an Australian) in Ladies Who Lunch, Nasty Things, Murders and Tituba (a Barbadian slave) The Crucible.
She has continued to work tirelessly backstage having, in various productions, been responsible for wardrobe, props, hairdressing, make-up, and prompt. In addition she has been an active member of the Committee.
She has been involved with Ripon Charity Pantomime Group and have been in the chorus on numerous occasions and has played Fairy Rose in Beauty and The Beast and Fairy Godmother in Mother Goose.
I have also been the Baroness and Fairy Steps in 2 adult pantomimes for Ripon Bowling Club.
