Ripon Rowel Players

Richard has been a member of the Society since the late 1980s, during which time he has taken part in over 30 productions, including When We Are Married, Relatively Speaking, Habeas Corpus, The Other Fellow's Oats, Rebecca, No Sex Please We're British, Theft, Wild Goose Chase, Natural Causes and Gaslight.

He has also been highly successful in one act plays, having won Best Actor in the Nidderdale Festival four times in The Dumb Waiter, The Extraordinary Adventures of Orca the Goldfish, Interior Designs and Sandcastles on the Beach. The first of these roles also won him best actor in the Northern Area final of the All-England Theatre Festival.

Richard is also active in Ripon Charity Pantomime Group, and has appeared in a couple of specially commissioned plays in Ripon Cathedral.

He has also acted professionally both as a patient simulator (for testing trainee doctors), and also in TV (Heartbeat, At Home with the Braithwaites and Fat Friends) and film (Beating Jesus).
