Ripon Rowel PlayersOne act. The conservatory of a small West Country guest house. The time is the present.
Fleur and Alice, two bickering sisters, arrive at the homely 'Respite' guest house, run by Mrs Meadowsweet, a comfortable person with a strong, soothing country accent. The other guests are pleasant and amiable without seemingly a care in the world. Fleur's suspicion is roused by the guests inability to remember their past lives and when Alice fails to remember her grievance against Fleur for stealing, marrying and divorcing her only suitor Fleur knows something is terribly wrong. Mrs Meadowsweet has some power to envelop other people's problems but at what expense. The play presents a dilemma as to whether it is good for people to forget all the bad things in life or does this lead to living the life of a zombie.
